Fred Butcher, founder, began his education early. He learned the appliance repair trade from his father Eugene Butcher who owned Gene’s Appliance in Painesville, OH for many years. Growing up, Fred was witness to his father’s courage and determination that allowed him to support a family of eight.

Fred opened his own appliance business from the basement of his home in the 1990s. Fred’s Appliance has since grown to cover five counties in Northeast Ohio with a team of local technicians to serve each.

As his reputation in the industry grew, Fred was able to assist in the development of an appliance repair training program with Lakeland Community College in Kirtland, OH. He was hired as a contracted instructor by Lakeland for nearly two years before taking the initiative to open his own training facility.

ACADEMY

Fred’s Appliance Academy, LLC offers a diverse technical training program that covers all aspects of appliance repair. Our hands-on program provides students with the skills and experience to service all major appliances, from washing machines and dryers, to ranges and refrigerators. If it’s in the home, you’ll know how to fix it by the time you leave Fred’s Appliance Academy.
