It was recommended that we contact an electrician. It was suggested that the dryer was not receiving enough power. My father-in-law removed a back panel and tightened a connection near the starter button. The dryer is working again. With the dryer being purchased only in December and not wanting to damage the product under warranty, we did not try to fix the dryer so we contacted Maytag.
