WHIRLPOOL DRYER WED4800XQ4 Complaint that the unit will not start. Checked and found proper power and the thermal fuse open. Cust has a foil accordion style vent hose attached to dryer (see pic). Explained the fire hazard associated with this type of vent hose and advised cust to replace with a semirigid metal hose to prevent fire hazard. Our service call and diagnosis fee is $89.95 on most items.
This includes the trip to the home and a complete diagnosis of your unit regardless of time. Parts and labor are extra. Labor is calculated using a national flat rate labor guide. For the 2nd appliance in the same home during the same trip the service call and diagnosis fee is $45.00
Job well done. My new fridge/freezer had a defective door. The technician quickly identified the problem (showed me) and ordered the door. I admit the door seemed to take forever to arrive but that was the manufacturer's issue. Scheduling the door's replacement was a breeze (the dispatcher was so nice) and you're given a link to track the technician's progress in real time (and it actually works!). You get a call right before your appointment. The technician, Paul, is polite, speedy, and knowledgeable. Overall, a positive experience dealing with an unexpected issue. I'd use them again.
