GE REFRIGERATOR GFE29HGDIBB nstalled new board and found unit to turn on the right off (continous reset). Tech unplugged all output componets and plugged each in one by one. Once all componets were plugged back in other than the ff evap fan unit started and stayed running. Tech plugged in the ff evap fan and unit shut down. Causing the ff fan connection on the board to short. Unit has a strong electrical odor in the ff section caused by the ff fan. Found that this unit is one of the units that need the updated fan kit with the new software. Customer contacting GE to see if they will cover the fan the board needs reordered due to failed ff fan section on board. Spoke to GS. Just incase we have to order fan kit P# WR49X25197; ordrng 1 WR55X28074 (CONTROL), schdld next appmnt for 8/8 TUE !,

This includes the trip to the home and a complete diagnosis of your unit regardless of time. Parts and labor are extra. Labor is calculated using a national flat rate labor guide. For the 2nd appliance in the same home during the same trip the service call and diagnosis fee is $45.00
Job well done. My new fridge/freezer had a defective door. The technician quickly identified the problem (showed me) and ordered the door. I admit the door seemed to take forever to arrive but that was the manufacturer's issue. Scheduling the door's replacement was a breeze (the dispatcher was so nice) and you're given a link to track the technician's progress in real time (and it actually works!). You get a call right before your appointment. The technician, Paul, is polite, speedy, and knowledgeable. Overall, a positive experience dealing with an unexpected issue. I'd use them again.
