Installed new compressor and drier. Pulled and held a 28"vac for 20mins (no change). Recharged the sys with 3.7oz of 134a, op test no good. Compressor ran for about 10mins unit began to cool and the compressor shut down very hard. Unplugged unit and checked between start, common, and run to find good resistance and nothing to ground. Tried to use start box after waiting 10mins for the pressures to equalize and found the compressor to have a locked rotor. Spoke to Gs no one stocks compressor. Complaint that the unit will not start checked and found the timer knob shaft broken caused by the timer binding. Unit will need a timer and timer know. Cust has a foil accordion style vent hose attached to dryer (see pic). Explained the fire hazard associated with this type of vent hose and advised cust to replace with a semiÂrigid metal hose to prevent fire hazard.
