nstalled new board and found unit to turn on the right off (continous reset). Tech unplugged all output componets and plugged each in one by one. Once all componets were plugged back in other than the ff evap fan unit started and stayed running. Tech plugged in the ff evap fan and unit shut down. Causing the ff fan connection on the board to short. Unit has a strong electrical odor in the ff section caused by the ff fan. Found that this unit is one of the units that need the updated fan kit with the new software. Customer contacting GE to see if they will cover the fan the board needs reordered due to failed ff fan section on board. Spoke to GS. Complaint that the unit is only making 3-4 ice cubes at a time and that the ice maker is leaking into the ice bin. Checked unit and found the fill tube ext. not in the fill cup all the way. Removed ice maker and repositioned ext and cycled ice maker. Found very low pressure to ice maker. Customer has a saddle valve connected to the supply line (see pic), advised cust the flooding hazard associated with this type of valve, recommended cust have the valve replaced with an inline valve. Found the water shutoff valve for the main where the saddle valve is at not open all the way. Cycled ice maker again and found good pressure and now fill completely. ; Job Cmpltd,

Complaint that when the unit is done spinning the unit comes to a hard stop. Tested unit in the spin cycle and opened lid. Found when the unit was stopping it would stop hard enough to move unit. Pulled case and inspected gearcase and clutch asm. Tech did find a lot of what appeared to be dust. Applied droplets of zoom spout to the clutch asm and tested several times to find the unit to now stop properly but the unit to have an abnormal shake to it. Found the base pads needing replaced. CC that water is leaking into ff section. Found fill tube has ruptured. Probably due to water valve weeping. Customer has self piercing saddle type valve installed in basement and also a plastic water line. This type of valve does not allow enough pressure to machine, causing valve to weep. Will need new fill tube and water valve. Also, plastic line is a flood hazard and should be changed to either copper or braided flexline and shut off valve must be replaced with an inline valve.
