Checked temps 14 frz, 45 ff, Machine was cycled off on temp control. Thermostat was set on 3 and frz on 3 . This is the midpoint on controls. Fans are running and cooling system operating with even frost pattern on evap. Doors are sealing good. Turned control up to 4. Machine started running, but only ran for about 5 min and then cycled off on control again. Tapped on control. Started back up.. Will need new temp control. Complaint that the unit is still stopping mid cycle and blinking like its loosing power. Found unit in standby mode and entered diagnostics. Found a 8-1 slow drain and a 6-4 open float switch. Let unit continue to run the self test cycle and found that the unit filled for about 2 seconds and then exited out of diagnostics as if it were done. Tried pulling power to reset and found the same result. Checked the float and the drain pump and found both good. Unit will not run through a diagnostics. Communication between the control and the UI appears to be the failure. Ordering both UI and main control. Unit os on its own dedicated circuit with a properly Polarized brand outlet. Pulled gearcase and replaced c clip that was left off. Replaced motor. Ran a spin cycle. Motor overheated and popped overload in 3 sec. removed pump. Ran motor. Same thing. Removed motor from machine but plugged in harness. Motor still popped the overload. Called FB. We think timer is energizing both motor speeds at same time. Will order another motor and timer. Complaint that the unit will turn on but not start. Checked and found the thermal fuse open. Customer is using the correct type of venting that is a very short run. Checked the blower housing for obstructions and found none. Quoted customer for labor only as there is no SC per LS and the part is still with in the one year warranty. Replaced fuse and tested, op test good. Found good cycling of the element and no signs that its shorting to the housing. Found good air flow outside. nstalled new board and found unit to turn on the right off (continous reset). Tech unplugged all output componets and plugged each in one by one. Once all componets were plugged back in other than the ff evap fan unit started and stayed running. Tech plugged in the ff evap fan and unit shut down. Causing the ff fan connection on the board to short. Unit has a strong electrical odor in the ff section caused by the ff fan. Found that this unit is one of the units that need the updated fan kit with the new software. Customer contacting GE to see if they will cover the fan the board needs reordered due to failed ff fan section on board. Spoke to GS.
