Robert came to inspect our "banging" Maytag refrigator on 9/11...identified the problem (a part), ordered it and returned to install part on 9/11. Each visit only lasted less 10 minutes, because Robert is an expert service repairman! I didn't rate the cost because we purchased a Maytag service agreement, which will last sometime in 2020. Robert already serviced our defect ice maker about a month or two ago. Great job always!

This is the first time I've been "wow'ed" by a service call. Brian was very pleasant, on time, respectful of our home, and we received calls prior to the visit and email after the visit. He identified a problem with the thermostat in the refrigerator, took the refrig apart, melted quite a bit of ice, and the temperature is now correct so our frozen food is once again frozen. However, this did not fix our initial concern (no ice being made). There was no way to know this without giving it time to make ice, so I don't fault Brian, but we'll need another service call. This was a warranty service call, so there was no cost.

Fred's appliance sends an email with a picture of the service tech. They give you a window of time when to expect the technician. Plus you can check to see where the tech is during the day. I received a robo call announcing the tech is finishing up and is on his way. Very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. The part for my clothes dryer was only $21, plus$110 labor and $89.95 for diagnostics for a total of $235. Still cheaper than a new dryer. That is why the 2 stars, but I understand the tech needs to be paid and the charge for the diagnostics. If only I could repair it myself!

Fred's is very efficient with their appointments and keeping you informed of appointments contacting you right away. Sorry, to say my experience has not been good though. I'm told this part needs to be ordered and then when repaired am told that it's not the problem. It's something else and another part needs to be ordered. I have had at least 5 to 6 service appts. and the washer never has been fixed (Maytag) is replacing the washer because it has not been fixed and now the dryer. I was told it was the motor, now told that wasn't it that's now the blower. Can't understand why neither of my appliances could be fixed the first time. The inconvenience of waiting between the hours for at least 5 or 6 appts. is ridiculous. The technician has been very polite and respectful but the problems just have not been fixed. So I am rating on my experience. How can I give good rating when the problem still exists and how do I know this next visit it won't be the problem either. Due to the washer not being fixed I had to keep calling Maytag and hold for 40 min. to an hour each time I called. Finally, arguing with them to replace this washer, due to their warranty service not being able to fix the problem.

The serviceman had poor customer-relations skills. He did not explain anything. I had to pry information out of him; if it were not for that, I would have been 'completely' left in the dark. His communication was lacking so badly, I had to ask him if he was feeling alright the first time he came out. He proceeded to tell me he felt badly because of an incident he experienced before the prior visit (note: he acted the same way the subsequent visit). He left a mess on our floor and in the refrigerator both times he came out. I had to clean the mess on the floor and inside the refrigerator, both times. This was the worst service we EVER experienced at our home! When I spend my money (good money) I, at least, expect top-quality service!

daughter needs to do a few dishes to test out newly installed part (esp. withing 30 day window of service call) just concerned about vibration noise...gabriel located it but the question remains will use cause the vibration to move the ring into the loud location it was during the first test run there was a three hour window of repair time, made it just within the third hour. need to work out a better heads up so i don't have to sit waiting for near on three hours.

I had a technician out to assess my dishwasher and microwave which ironically both started to malfunction simultaneously. Very disappointed that despite telling the call center the brand of appliances I have, they sent a very inexperienced provider who I actually had to provide my WiFi password to so that he could literally Google how to run diagnostics on my appliances and proceeded to tell me information I already knew. Adding that there was nothing wrong with my dishwasher, and that I just needed to put more rinse aid in it. Funny how that didn’t solve the problem. When I got upset, he told me he actually only knows “Whirlpool” appliances pointing to the Whirlpool logo on his uniform. Why would a company send a technician and charge a $150 service charge for appliances they don’t typically have experience with? Top it off with the fact that the repair cost for my microwave was in excess of the cost of buying a new (expensive GE monogram!) one. Why? Well, because in addition to parts and labor, Fred’s charges another $90!service charge just to come out for the repair. Seems redundant to me. Not a company I will use again.
