When you own a home, it comes with a set of responsibilities including maintenance and repairs of the house and everything in it. Eventually, your kitchen appliances will either need to be replaced or repaired. When it comes time for an appliance to be repaired for the first time since owning it, you want to make sure that said appliance gets repaired correctly the first time. This is accomplished when you rely on the services of a seasoned professional. If you aren’t sure where to start when it comes to hiring an appliance technician for an oven repair, make sure to ask these four questions before hiring.

  1. What is The Warranty on Your Services And Products? This is a critical question to ask because you not only know what warranty options you have on the products and services before hiring, but because the answer you get on this question gives you a lot of insight on the technician and how they view their own work. If a company does not offer warranties, it’s usually an indication that they are not confident in the work they do. However, companies that know they have done excellent work for their clients will usually give out long-term warranties on all of the appliances they repair, including ovens.
  2. How Much Will The Repair Cost? Undoubtedly, you will want to know the cost of the oven repair before hiring any company.  Without diagnosing the problem, it’s hard to get an accurate estimate over the phone.  While knowing the cost of the oven repair is important, cost alone should not be the reason why you hire or do not hire an appliance technician. For example, while an estimate that is substantially lower than any estimate you have gotten from other companies might be enticing, you should question why it is so low. Perhaps the quality of work will not be as good or the company could be leaving out other costs that might arise. Generally, if a company provides a slightly higher price quote but has excellent customer reviews, you can be sure you are going to get a quality job on your oven repair.
  3. Can I Have Some References? Speaking of customer reviews, you want not only those, but a few references that you can physically speak too as well. First check out the customer testimonials on the company’s website, Facebook, and on another place that you can find online. Secondly, you can easily reach out to those customers via social media, especially when they left a review on facebook.  What other people have to say about their experience with the company and the job they have done is very telling of what you can expect. A company with positive reviews is one you can comfortably know will do an excellent job on your oven repair or other appliance repair project.
  4. How Long Has Your Company Been in Business? In general, the longer the company has been around the more experienced and reputable they are. Ask the company how many years they have been in business. Five years or more is usually a good sign that the technicians are qualified for the job. However, it is worth noting that just because a company may only have been around for a couple years or even a couple months doesn’t mean they aren’t qualified. A company may be new, but it could have been started by a technician who already has several years of experience. In this case, ask the technician how many years they have been working.
