Service
There are many appliance problems that require a call to an appliance service, some of which are larger problems than others.
Various issues can stop an appliance from working as designed, but that doesn’t mean you always need professional service.
For people with some general knowledge of how appliances work, there are many simple fixes that you can apply. Here are some easy fixes for common appliance problems.
- Not every appliance problem requires repair. On some appliances, there could be an issue with where it is installed.
- Refrigerators are stalwart in how long they function. They last years and years when cared for properly. However, if your fridge is on the fritz, try cleaning its coils before panicking. Some simple spick and span can go a long way.
- If your gas stove burners aren’t functioning as you would like, remove the burner cover and take a close look at the burner. If it is dirty and clogged, clean it with a brush.
- Dryers can clog with lint after repeated laundry use, but a rattling noise might just be a loose button. Further, if your dryer isn’t drying like it’s supposed to, attempt to clean the hose and vent before calling an expert.
- For any appliance that won’t start, there’s a chance that the breaker is tripped. Before you call for repair or rush out and buy a new one, check the breaker box first. If that doesn’t solve the problem, there’s also a chance that the circuit is overloaded. In that case, you might need an electrician before you need appliance repair.
