"Cc unit making a loud banging noise and wont start a cycleFound unit is sitting on a pallet, front of unit is hanging down below pallet slats, belt guard is resting on pallet. Adjusted unit on pallet, all 4 feet now on pallet and stable. Ran test cycle, all functions passed, no abnormal noise heard. Customer started normal load w/clothing. Unit sensed and advanced to fill and agitate. Op test good."

We have a five-year-old Maytag clothes dryer which began making noises some months ago. Texted Fred's Appliance on a Monday and got a near-immediate response, setting an appointment for Wednesday of that same week. The service person arrived at 8 AM on the dot and immediately went to work, diagnosed the problem, replaced the failed parts, and reassembled the dryer IN UNDER AN HOUR. Bill, the serviceman, was friendly and polite and frankly did very good work.
It was NOT inexpensive to get the repair done, but what is these days? The dryer is back working as it should, and that's my bottom line.
