In describing the role of historical societies, noted historian Debbie Ann Doyle wrote, “Not all cutting edge historical research and learning takes place in a classroom. Historians practice their craft in museums, national parks and libraries… To that end, small historical societies play an important role in protecting and preserving the historical record and also interpreting the past to the public. Their mission is to preserve the legacy of their ancestors, commemorate local heroes, and to preserve local architecture.”
The Madison Historical Society is doing its part to preserve the history of our community for ourselves and future generations. However, they need help to do so. Fred’s Appliance is proud to support the Madison Historical Society.
