How to save some money on Microwave Appliance Repair

Microwave Appliance Repair can get costly and in today’s economy, most people are watching every dime. Here are a few tips that may help you avoid a service call for a simple fix.

  1. Make sure the door is closed tight. It sounds foolish, but it happens. Food can get stuck in the door and keep it from latching properly. When this happens, your microwave will not work. Clean the food out, close the door and listen for the latch to click.
  2. Check your power sources. The plug may have slipped part way out of the socket preventing electricity from getting to the microwave. If it is plugged in, voltage test the outlet. If you still don’t have power, check your breaker box. You probably have a tripped breaker.
  3. Reset the microwave breaker. First make sure the appliance is unplugged then pull the back of the microwave off with a screwdriver. Inside you’ll see an electric motor. Most microwaves have a small red button on this motor. Press that button and if the breaker was your problem, the microwave will work.

The suggestions above can help you solve some common simple problems. If none of these work then it’s time to call in the experts. Here at Fred’s Appliance, we pride ourselves on being the best in the business. Not only for our repair work, but for our friendly service and top notch warranties, as well.
