We came across this article regarding the 50 year anniversary of the Madison Township Police Department and we wanted to take a moment to thank the MTPD team for the 50 years of service in our community.
We especially appreciate Chief Byers expressing concern regarding the Heroin epidemic. It’s a hard truth that the Chief of our local police department is declaring concerns regarding this epidemic in an article that’s recognizing the department for 50 years of service to our community. We truly need to work towards bringing down the stigma that surrounds Heroin use. So many people of our community that are succumbing to Heroin use started with opiate prescriptions legally prescribed. It’s not as easy as just suggesting these individuals made bad choices.
As a community, we need to work together to combat this very difficult epidemic. Fred’s Appliance Service has contributed 6 doses of Naloxone (aka Narcan) for patrolmen to use in the field. We wanted to share with the online community to continue to build awareness of this issue.
